Watercolour

Watercolour was my first serious medium and during mid career it remained my principaI and most successful means.
I love its immediacy and delicacy. I use it to paint in situ of the source material. It can reflect in real time both my response and the movement found at all times in nature.
In recent years I have begun a series of still-life paintings of flowers laid out. Although their reference is botanical illustration my technical concern is to make a satisfying and coherent ‘all over’ composition.
